video review: https://ugetube.com/watch/rebel-galaxy-one-minute-game-review_PMgzSvlYfE2C2i9.html great soundtrack (in the Rebel Galaxy\music folder), but at the start of the game you're pretty weak compared to everyone else in the game. Do simple missions, mining, and avoid combat to start. Reminds me of Tradewars from the BBS days. We loved it so much my kids bought it onsale to use on their computer too.
can I post a link to a video review? https://ugetube.com/watch/tonight-we-riot-one-minute-game-review_uj9D9hB6Lpok9cR.html Guess we'll see. :p Overall, not bad, not great, I thought the art was really well done. The ability to mod that would of been a GOLD MINE but alas, can't find a way. :(
controls can be frusterating at times, most of the plot is about max (you) getting revenge for stealing your car (on nearly everyone, even those not involved). Open world, but some invisible walls can be frusterating. A lot of the baddies are identical, just different models/textures & sometimes more powerful.
A lot of comparisons to Portal, but I'd say it's the anti-pPortal. Where Portal spent a lot of time on dialog and story with some good puzzles thrown in, this game has lots of good to great puzzles with some dialog thrown in. At first it starts out simple with moving some colored blocks and quickly turns in to a gravity and room manipulating fun fest! :) It is one of the most "physical" first person puzzle games I've played. Play this one. If you're a fan of those kind of puzzles where you have to put a bunch of abstract blocks together to make a cube or separate the chain links, this is for you. I've done more thinking in this puzzle game about how to solve puzzles then most. The dialog isn't bad and the two "characters" that talk to you are great (both in quality and dialog), both with conflicting points of view and both pointing out reasons they're the one to listen to. The graphics are simple but interesting.
My only complaint is that it gets repetitive in parts. It has more in common with C64/NES era top/down shooters vs Doom/Quake era FPS's with similar gameplay to Serious Sam. If you like shooters for the shooting seemingly endless hordes of monsters, this is a great game for you!
